The Stafford
One of the friendliest five star hotels in London with an amazing history.
Place to Stay for History Lovers
My personal favourite 5 star hotel in London and this is the place to stay for history lovers. The Stafford is filled with unique features and it is one of the friendliest and most comfortable 5 star hotels in London. No wonder they have an exceptionally high rate of return guests.
What Makes The Stafford unique?
- Extraordinary history extending back to the 17th century
- Home to one of London’s best bars, The American Bar. The bar is filled with ties, baseball caps, American football helmets, teddy bears and more memorabilia supplied by guests and known for its outstanding cocktails. There is also a fantastic outdoor courtyard tucked away behind the hotel
- The Stafford London served as a club for American and Canadian officers stationed overseas during World War 2.
- Stay in the converted stable rooms which I love in the Carriage House
- Home to one of London’s best game restaurants which is appropriately called The Game Bird
- 380 year old wine cellar that served as an air raid shelter during World War 2 (there is a fab little museum too)
- Only a few minutes walk from beautiful Green Park so perfect for runners
Key things to know
- The Stafford is actually three unique buildings: the Main House, Mews Suites, Carriage house and the gatehouse.
- The suites are particularly impressive and spacious
- There is a small passage across from the hotel that leads straight to Green Park
- My best friend love’s their afternoon tea
